The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) was established in 2016 by a decree from HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

SIRA seeks to provide Dubai with the highest levels of safety and security through the implementation of international best practices in security systems, services and guards.

SIRA protects lives and properties by suggesting new laws and regulations, applying smart systems, training security cadres and inspecting various types of facilities.

Beside following their execution within a modern frame by the government and managing the institutional performance and professional auditing in order to reduce the external and internal as well as current and future risks and challenges.

MOFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and International Cooperation serves as the connecting link between the wise leadership and people of the UAE on one side and the whole World on the other side. The Ministry undertakes several responsibilities from supervision of all Embassies representing UAE to entering bilateral agreements and pacts with other nations.

In Addition to these responsibilities, The Ministry also handles verification and attestation of documents issued outside UAE and UAE issued documents to be used abroad.

“The Consular Services Department in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) provides Attestation Service for all types of documents (commercial documents/ Study Certificates/ and other documents) as a measure to ratify the validity of stamp and signature on documents issued within or out of the UAE.”

In case the UAE has no embassy in the concerned Country, documents are to be approved by the concerned Country’s Embassy in the UAE. If the concerned Country has no Embassy in the UAE, documents are to be notarized by the Country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs accredited to the UAE.

MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY

When the UAE leadership announced the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), it marked the beginning of a breakthrough in the comprehensive development of the country’s industrial ecosystem. MoIAT aims to keep pace with the UAE’s journey towards the next 50 years, and support national goals with a focus on future industries. It also seeks to increase the contribution of advanced technology to the growth of the industrial sector and raise the quality of products made in the Emirates.

To achieve our objectives, we have devised an action plan that includes restructuring existing mechanisms, implementing enabling measures, and adopting a flexible legislative, regulatory and logistical framework that facilitates exports and attracts foreign investments. We also intend to promote the unique benefits our country offers to the local and international industry and investment community.

Through our value-added initiatives, we leverage opportunities for the inclusive development of the UAE’s industrial ecosystem.

ESMA

The UAE established the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA)

As its sole national standardization body in 2001 under UAE Law No. 28/2001.:

On July 5, 2020, leaders of the UAE announced a major government reorganization, and ESMA was absorbed into a newly created Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology.

Historically, ESMA’s tasks have included:

  • Develop, provide, and adopt national standards prepared by its technical committees at the request of the government, industry, and consumers.

  • Ensure consumers safety and environmental protection through the implementation of UAE standards.

  • Provide up-to-date information on standardization and relevant activities and stakeholders at the national, regional, and international levels.

MINISTRY OF CLIMATE CHANGE

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with its partners in the public and private sectors, is working to bolster efforts to deal with climate change, in terms of mitigation and adaptation, through the National Climate Change Plan 2050, adopted by the Cabinet in June 2017, and the National Climate Change Adaptation Program, adopted at the first annual meeting of the UAE Government in September 2017, in addition to other relevant policies and programs.
